This position operates Monday-Friday during the day, but flexibility for alternate shifts is essential based on mission needs. Occasional on-call support may also be required.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: - Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, maintain, and operate Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), ensuring efficient Wireless and Internet connectivity while upholding Network Security.
- Maintain existing network equipment and proficiently install new gear.
- Enhance end-to-end system performance and manage data flows effectively.
- Conduct data captures to gather essential network performance metrics.
- Utilize design analysis and performance monitoring tools to minimize network latency and maximize data throughput.
- Contribute to the design of community networks and mission architecture.
- Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and maintain an array of network devices and interfaces.
- Optimize connectivity between various front-end and back-end components.
- Gather data to define system/component performance and interface requirements.
- Implement tailored network solutions supporting critical server requirements including load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, Traffic Shaping, VoIP, and more.
- Be flexible with working hours to support the team, including on-call duties and possible additional hours as mission needs arise.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Solid understanding of routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and IS-IS.
- Knowledge of core networking principles such as TCP/IP, ACL, NAT, SDWAN, QoS, and security practices.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting network hardware.
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of network engineering experience; additional experience can substitute for formal education.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on creative problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Commitment to thorough documentation and organization.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Must possess DoD IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with installation and maintenance techniques for wireless communications systems.
- Proficient in Cisco IOS and other IP/transport network protocols.
- Expertise in IP networking principles.
- Experience with devices like Cisco routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Cisco switches.
- Familiarity with tools like Science Logic, Catalyst Center, or Ansible tower.
- CCNP Enterprise certification is a plus.
- Experience with DISA STIGs and implementing network security measures.
- Capability to configure security best practices for routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with managing security updates and ensuring optimal performance of security devices.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
