Position Title: Network Boundary Lead Location: Schriever Space Force Base - Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal - Huntsville, AL Relocation Assistance: None available at this time Remote/Telework: Not available - On-site only Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Work Schedule: Day Shift (may require on-call support and occasional off-hours work for maintenance or incident response) Travel: Up to 10% Position Summary: Aegis Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Boundary Lead to oversee and manage the security posture of the organization's network perimeter. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining boundary protection technologies such as firewalls, proxy servers, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and VPN gateways. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, hands-on technical leadership, and a proactive approach to mitigating threats. This position supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the IRES (Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions) contract. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the team responsible for network boundary operations including firewall administration, intrusion prevention, and remote access Design and implement perimeter security architectures in accordance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, HIPAA) Monitor and respond in real-time to boundary-related threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity Maintain and configure firewalls, web proxies, VPN concentrators, and email security gateways (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) Develop and enforce network segmentation and access control policies to minimize exposure Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, Risk, and external vendors for seamless integration and incident response Perform audits and assessments of perimeter defenses and recommend improvements Create and maintain technical documentation and incident response procedures Train and mentor junior staff on boundary defense and cybersecurity best practices Operate in secure or classified environments, depending on the project scope Minimum Qualifications: Must hold US citizenship Must hold an active DoD Secret or higher security clearance Must have 5 or more years of experience in network security roles Must have 2 or more years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role Must have strong expertise in firewalls, network protocols, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems Must have experience with SIEM tools, packet inspection, and network traffic analysis Must have knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, or Zero Trust models Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience) One or more certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE Experience working in enterprise or federal IT environments Familiarity with scripting/automation tools such as Python or PowerShell for network/security operations Compensation: Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000 annually.
