First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Network Architect Officer to join our IT Infrastructure Department - Network Team. In this role, you will be responsible for high-level network and telecom planning, design, and optimization. Develops strategies and direction for network and telecom systems solutions using current and emerging technologies. The Network Architect translates business requirements into network or process designs. Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and architecture. Approves and modifies network and telecom design and architecture to ensure compliance. Configures and maintains routers, switches, and hubs for the network systems (including wireless). Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise. Monitors network performance ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. Performs troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution documentation. Also provides technical oversight on all network and telecom related projects to assess technological risks and ensure that the described solution proves to be consistent with all aspects of enterprise architecture while meeting all the necessary customer requirements. The Network Architect will coordinate ongoing activities and translate the architecture design concept to IT operations. The Network Architect will work closely with project managers, 3rd party vendors, and operations to ensure that everyone involved in project implementing a solution, including the stakeholders, are following architectural best practices. Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to the network and telecom teams, as it relates to new project designs, solutions, and technologies implemented
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (hours may vary)
Compensation: The annual salary range for this role is: $105k - $135k/year; commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will have: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience required
- Strong network, telecom, and firewall experience required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of equivalent work experience in Information Technology field supporting and maintaining infrastructure/applications
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience with managing and supporting network systems
- Minimum of five (5) years managing and leading technical projects
- Two plus years of enterprise solution architect experience
- 7 years network experience, including routers, switches, firewalls, and security appliances
- Professional certifications in technology from vendors such as Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, and/or related, or equivalent work experience with technology from these vendors preferred
- Experience in IT compliance, regulatory and audits preferred
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with management and end-users
- Ability to implement process improvements through automation
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership skills with ability to lead, inspire and motivate team members
- Familiar with legal and technical issues involving vendor contract negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated initiative when identifying needs or issues
