Hybrid role in Englewood, CO
The selected candidate will join a dynamic team of architects and engineers addressing a variety of network engineering projects, including Distributed Access Architectures (DAA), 10 Gig access road maps, standardization of access appliances and other network access technologies. Projects will include fiber, and HFC networks. Initial projects will be related to the development of technical requirements for DOCSIS 4.0 RPDs and vCMTSs and working with vendors to develop DOCSIS 4.0 equipment for deployment in the network. There will also be opportunities to shape the definition of DOCSIS 5.0.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical experience with strong DOCSIS and Cable industry architectures. Experience in the development of industry standards is a plus. Exposure to Passive Optical Network (PON) technology is also a plus. The candidate must have an aptitude for architecting end-to-end Access Network systems.
The individual will also manage vendors regarding products and service deliverables based on business requirements and internal customer requests. The position requires a technical background and working knowledge of DOCSIS and Cable architectures. Additionally, it is desirable to have exposure to PON and mobile wireless architectures and multiple technologies including the following:
IPv4, IPv6
Access network devices (i.e. CMTSs, OLTs, 5G NR Base Stations, etc.) and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and home networking (i.e., cable modems, WiFi Routers/APs, ONU/ONTs, set top boxes, home routers, etc.)
Device provisioning
Access networks, including DOCSIS, Distributed Access Architectures (DAA), FTTx, EPON, 5G RAN
Access Devices and/or network virtualization, SDN/NFV, NETConf, YANG

Responsibilities
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal clients.
- Strong writing skills to effectively write architecture requirements documents and design documents.
- Develop architecture requirements for the DOCSIS Network.
- Develop architecture requirements for the support of data offload of wireless traffic onto the DOCSIS network.
- Develop access network strategies and roadmaps.
- Maintain a good understanding of the Cable industry and how it may impact the company.
- Participate as needed in relevant industry standards organizations regarding access technologies.
- Promote and champion Company's vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.
- Manage resource allocation and workload; work closely with the Technology leadership team, internal stakeholders and other cross functional teams to prioritize work. Communicate and ensure delivery of committed work.
- Represent business interests in a wide variety of settings and relationships including company management, business partners, and equipment vendors.
Experience Requirements
- 5 years+ experience in the Cable industry including DOCSIS 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, DAA, Remote PHY & MAC-PHY, HFC, RF, Analog and Digital Optics, I-CMTS, M-CMTS, CCAP, vCCAP, cable modems, eMTA's, Business Services (RIP, Static, BSoD), PON/FTTx, ePON, OLTs and ONUs, MAP-T, NAT444, IPv6, Virtualization, DHCP, TCP/IP, 5G Core, SAS
DESIRED ACCESS Technology Knowledge:
- Experience in PON technologies (both IEEE-based, and ITU-based), wireless communications including 5G RAN, Wireless LAN technologies including IEEE 802.11ax and exposure to IEEE 802.11be, 2 years+ leading teams.
