KSI and our government customer in Fort Detrick, Maryland. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is on-site three days per week, but expanded telework options are available for exceptional candidates on a case-by-case basis.

We are seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Network and Systems Administrator with Linux Administration experience to support the DML-ES SAP Medical logistics systems at Ft. Detrick in Frederick, MD. The candidate shall provide hardware maintenance and subject matter expertise to support the sustainment, configuration, and troubleshooting of the system, ensuring systems are operating at optimal performance. Specifically, we are looking for someone that can work independently with distributed teams to ensure the team remains accountable to the work that needs to be accomplished.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: - Provide Linux server administration, migration support, backup/restore, disposal of hardware (as per Govt. guidelines) and recovery services in support of applications hosted on cloud-based (AWS) and on-prem based environments.
- Participate in System Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing.
- Ensure production systems maintain 99.8% availability.
- Perform root cause analysis on any unscheduled downtime.
- Install, upgrade, document and maintain new versions of server software, to include but not limited to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and patches.
- Implement and maintain applicable DISA STIG and SRG configuration requirements for all virtual servers, network devices and software.
- PPS submissions and coordinate/ troubleshoot network issues.
- 24x7 Technical support for optimum server performance and system recovery in compliance with Army Regulations.
- Analyze hardware and software reliability reports to identify problems.
- Provide technical support and planning of hardware, networks, operating systems, databases and communications solutions.
- Provide Linux support to include installation and configuration management services, file system management, memory management, printer management, and system security services.
- Plan for future technical/ network/ hardware/ software refreshes.
- Provide support for HP Enterprise Servers, Windows 2016 Server, HP Enterprise Virtual Array, Brocade fiber switches, HP Enterprise Data Protector backup software, and Tidal Software Horizon Sap integration.
- Interface with Boundary Security Services (BSS) and similar entities at customer locations to resolve issues related to communications and network connectivity issues.
- Provide expertise in Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) services, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure sockets (HTTPS).
- Interface with various Cyber Security groups to identify and mitigate IA findings.
- Plan, support, migrate to, and maintain a secure and optimized VM environment.
- The Network and Systems Administrator will perform hardware and software setup and tuning activities, data backups, troubleshoot server problems, and maintain a high availability system for cloud based and on-prem based environments.
Required Qualifications: - A bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Business Administration, Management or other related scientific or technical discipline is required.
- Minimum 7-10 years infrastructure related experience in Linux Systems Administration. Certification will be a plus.
- Experience in script programming (e.g. Shell, Perl, Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience with server operations in large environments and in Gov. cloud (AWS)
- Experience with Database administration in general, a plus
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification prior to start date. Other acceptable certifications: Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, GSEC, FITSP-O, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP.
- Must be able to obtain SYSOPS AWS certification.
- Must be a US Citizen/able to obtain a (S) clearance
- Experience leading a team, program, or contract including employee supervision, timecard oversight, and financial management.
Desired Qualifications: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other government audits.
- Experience with applying and maintaining DISA STIG and SRG configuration requirements
- Experience with configuring and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure in support of SAP/HANA application
- Experience in migrating on-prem assets to cloud based IAAS hosting environment
