JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the day-to-day operations of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems; assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, system installations, backup, maintenance and problem solving; assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; responsible for updates, configurations and maintenance to the IP telephone system; maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information; researches and recommends network and server hardware and software; assist in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software; analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution or problems; monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; researches, analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves data network problems; develops, maintains and implements network support and archiving procedures; researches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services; keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements; assists and provides support to the Technology Support/Trainers as necessary; assists in providing internet and intranet user support, and specialized training; responsible for overseeing and training the position of Network Technician.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and knowledge:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • "Cisco Certified Network Associate" (CCNA) certification.
  • An in depth understanding of the OSI layer.
  • Certifications with Microsoft Networking, including Windows Server and Active Directory (MCSE/MSDBA)
  • Two years networking experience, installing, and managing Windows network software and using the latest technology to plan, design and implement LANs and WANs.
  • Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Twelve months supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of proper procedures for working in and around Class Ill gaming equipment, as defined by NTGA and Operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain a Class Ill Gaming License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull.

  • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
  • Supervise the Network Technicians.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshot problem areas as needed.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephone equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions.
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior member of the tern.
  • Submit written reports to IT Manager and/or Chief Information Officer regarding integrity issues and other reporting as assigned.
  • Train end users where needed and/or directed.
  • Responsible for guest service training and facilitating the Guest Service Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
