  • Join a thriving team of 2 board certified MFM physicians and 1 perinatal APP at an expanding practice with a large referral base
  • Strong support from experienced staff: 2 genetic counselors, 6 perinatal nurses, 9 fetal echo-certified sonographers
  • Level IIIB NICU
  • One of two Children's Hospitals and Level I Trauma Centers in the State of Iowa
  • Modern and fully equipped clinic adjacent to the hospital with GE E-10 ultrasound machines, integrated GE ViewPoint, and EPIC EMR
  • Consultative only - No delivery requirements
  • 4-day work week with admin time
  • Call 1:3 with new physician
  • Cedar Rapids Opportunity:
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Hospital NICU provides care to term and preterm newborn infants in our advanced 22-bed AAP Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • The team includes 3 neonatologists and 6 nurse practitioners providing 24 x 7 in-house neonatology coverage for a free-standing womens and childrens Health Center.
  • The practice provides care for non-surgical patients of all gestations and serve as a regional hub for affiliate institutions throughout northeastern Iowa. The practice includes high-frequency ventilation (both Jet and Oscillator), inhaled Nitric Oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and specialized transport services. The practice strives to collaboratively provide up-to-date, evidence-based, multi-disciplinary, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate care.
  • Full time position; schedule on rotation among all Physicians
  • Holidays are on a rotation
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
  • Comprehensive critical care to neonatal inpatients
  • Neonatal consultation services (e.g., newborn nursery, inpatient pediatrics, emergency department, labor and delivery, referring institutions, etc.)
  • Perform procedures (e.g., PICC placement, lumbar puncture, endotracheal intubation, umbilical lines, etc.)
  • Communicate with caregivers
  • Timely accurate documentation in electronic medical record (NeoData, Epic)
  • Participate in teaching and development of nursing and ancillary staff (e.g., STABLE, NRP, bedside teaching, educational conferences, etc.)
  • Participate in maintenance and improvement of unit practice (e.g., VON quality collaboratives, journal clubs, division meetings, protocol writing/review, etc.)
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bettendorf, IA/Moline, IL Opportunity:
  • Join 3 physicians and 3 NP's in this employment opportunity
  • 2-8 Patients average daily census
  • Service provided for 30wks GA infants and up
  • Call 24/7 on your week - no in-house night call - supported by NNP's - minimal solo night call.
  • Flexible work schedule - 7 on and 7-14 days off
  • Only work 20 wks/year
  • Part of Vermont Oxford Network (VON)
  • Dedicated staff and specially trained Nurses in providing emergency pediatric care and resuscitation.
  • EMR: Neodata and EPIC (Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination)
  • Pediatric Subspecialties and Maternal Fetal Medicine services available 24/7 by telemedicine consult
  • Newly expanded/renovated NICU with single family rooms and multiples room
