Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neonatologist to join our team and provide exceptional care for infants in our Level III NICU and newborn nursery. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment with access to advanced medical resources and specialty backup. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for our neonates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care in a Level III NICU and newborn nursery.
- Manage critically ill neonates and newborns, performing neonatal resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced therapies as needed.
- Collaborate with a team of specialists, including respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and neonatal transport teams.
- Coordinate with ophthalmology for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) exams and consult with Surrounding Sites for cardio reads and echocardiograms.
- Respond to emergency situations in the NICU and participate in neonatal transport when required.
- Oversee the care of newborns in the nursery, ensuring that all protocols are followed for healthy and at-risk infants.
- Provide education and support to families regarding neonatal care and any medical conditions affecting their newborns.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care in the medical record.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology.
- Active AL Medical License or be willing to license.
- Prior experience in a Level III NICU setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with medical teams and families.
- Clean background and professional file for expedited credentialing (average credentialing time: 90 days).
Shift Details:
- 24-hour shifts; in-house during the day, with call responsibility at night.
- Expectation to cover NICU and newborn nursery during assigned shifts.
- Will consider expedited privileging for qualified candidates with a clean file.
