Job Opportunity: Board Certified Neonatologist
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist to join our dedicated team at a leading medical center in scenic Elmira, New York. Nestled in the picturesque Finger Lakes Region, this facility stands as the only regional perinatal center, offering comprehensive women's health services including Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a Level III NICU. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care as a strong clinician, working effectively in a team environment and adhering to evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Utilize block scheduling to accommodate work-life balance, with the option to live outside the area if necessary.
- Oversee NNPs providing 24-hour in-house coverage, transport call, high-risk deliveries, and care for critically-ill newborns in the NICU.
- Engage with a robust support system, including pediatric sub-specialties for consults and in-house services.
- Manage a 20-bed Level-III NICU, averaging 1,500 deliveries per year, with approximately 300 NICU admissions and a daily census between 13-15.
- Handle transports from surrounding counties, accounting for 15-20 percent of admissions.
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- New York license (or willingness to obtain).
- Must not require visa support for J1 or H1B.
- Accepting new graduate candidates (fellowship must be completed prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics - REQUIRED
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine - REQUIRED
- Current New York State license (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED
