Program Overview Scientific, engineering, and acoustic data analysis in support of the U.S. Navy's Signatures Directorate. Operations include assisting with submarine sonar sensor testing, designing acoustic measurement systems, developing signature materials, and performing research and development for the fleet. About The Role This is an onsite position at Peraton's customer site: NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD. Peraton is hiring a Naval Structures Modeling Engineer to do the following: Support the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division. Candidate will work with Finite Element Modeling / Finite Element Analysis (FEM/FEA) tools to support ongoing research into the acoustics of US Navy platforms. Significant portion of responsibilities will involve generation and test of FEM model meshes of complex Naval structures using commercial FEM tools. Additional efforts will include running FEA tools, generating results, and assisting Government SMEs in analysis of the FEA results. Candidate will work within a Government - Contractor team performing multiple projects concurrently. A successful candidate must be a self-starter able to communicate with multiple teams, set and adjust priorities and schedules, and deliver results per schedule. Qualifications Education and Experience: 5 years with BSME, BS Physics or Math; 3 years with MSME or MS; 0 years with PhD Required: Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Modeling. Must have experience defining model meshes of complex structures.
Demonstrated experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus. DoD SECRET ClearanceDesired: Experienced COMSOL user
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
