Naval Engineering Management and Operations Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US The Opportunity: You will lead a group of 3-10 analysts and engineers that bring specific expertise and knowledge in business intelligence, data management, financial forecast processes, logistics planning, and use of enterprise systems in support of NAVSEA,NSWC, MSC, FMS, USCG, Programs, DOD and Shipyard clients with superb support in developing engineering management and operational guardrails in support of the Naval Engineering Director and greater team. You and your team will work closely with engineering task leads and other HM&E Leads to support client monthly and discrete deliverables, schedules, planned forecasts, staffing plans, and final technical deliverables. You will ensure project plans are created foreach task, level loaded between engineering resources, manage financials, and work with contract PMO teams to ensure proper reporting of labor funds and deliverables. You will lead internal and Client bi-weekly and monthly reporting requirements for each task instruction, sub-task, and contract. You will stay current in Microsoft Applications such as Microsoft word, Excel, PPT, Database, Teams, and ensure modern tools such as Power BI/ SharePoint are used and introduced to perform efficient methods for business operations. You will hire staff to effectively use the tools necessary to increase management and operational efficiency with the use of pivot tables, Vlookups, excel formulas, artificial intelligence, and other data analytical methods available. You will be a self-starter, perform as a team player cross multiple engineering management teams, and support technical proposal development as needed. Responsibilities: Ensure internal and external clients receive accurate technical advice in a timely fashion.
• Meet with key internal Engineering leads to determine future engineering project plans and technical deliverables are on track and funded adequately.
• Develop and improves deliverable reporting and financial forecast processes for engineering management and businessoperati ons, quality, and ti meliness of customer deliverables.
• Hire staff to supplement internal and external engineering management to foster a culture of efficient operational support using automated soft ware and reporting methods for a diverse onsite, hybrid, and remote workforce.
• Ensure team is pro-active, self-starters, problem solvers, and digital creators of process documentation so the engineering team is trained in procedures and oversight
• Develop Business Process Subject Matt er Experts who take ownership of Monthly reporting, Excel Forecasts, Reporting duties, key main and auxiliary systems.
• Ability to support specific areas in proposals and targeted growth areas, with willingness to learn and lead larger Proposal support efforts.
• Self-Starter, multi -task capability, technically savvy, interpersonal skills, team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
• Client interfacing for specific reporting requirements on project and program status and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Leads, directs and reviews the work of team members to accomplish operational plans and results OR complete more narrowly defined projects or objectives within own job area.
• Supervises employees, typically junior or mid-level.
• Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement.
• Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports. Qualifications: Required:
• BS Degree in Naval Architecture, or related degree
• US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
• Three years of experience performing as a key leader of an engineering team or in support of projects comprised of at least 3 FTEs.
• Experience briefing complex technical issues (including performance, cost, schedule and risk implications) to decisionmakers.
• Strong analytical skills, writing skills and ability to prepare technical reports, papers, and briefing complex technical issues to stakeholders Desired:
• Ten years of experience performing as an engineering lead key lead of a Navsea or MSC engineering team projects comprised of least 10 FTEs and Across HM&E disciplines.
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, or Business Degree
• Understanding the parameters of various Microsoft Soft ware Tools
