Job Title: Naval Architect
Location: Plymouth - Hybrid - 2-3 days on-site per week

Our client, an established engineering consultancy, requires an experienced Naval Architect to join their multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking to expand our Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture capabilities at all experience levels and are keen to hear from you if you're ready to take the next step in your career.
Note: We can only consider sole UK Nationals (no dual nationalities).
Responsibilities of the Naval Architect include:
- Collaborate transparently with various engineering discipline leads/teams to provide clear reports and information regarding progress, risks, and opportunities related to engineering activities.
- Apply learnings and operational best practices from other engagements.
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
- Develop detailed requirement specifications.
- Support projects throughout their engineering lifecycle.
- Assess potential project risks and undertake risk management in specialized roles.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of project stakeholders.
- Support governance meetings.
- Think creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
- Adapt to evolving project requirements and notify relevant parties of changes.
- Compile and peer review project and technical reports.
Candidate requirements:
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety and reliability.
- Expertise in ship stability and weight allocations.
- Experience with servicing and operations in a dockyard environment.
- Knowledge of mooring and towing operations.
- Understanding of ship systems and marine structures.
- Ability to develop, test, and evaluate theoretical designs.
- Capability to recommend modifications following prototype testing.
- Proficiency in research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, especially in mathematical modeling and CAD.
- Consideration of cost, safety, and time constraints in decision-making.
