Responsibilities:
As a Natural Resources Attorney, your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing expert legal advice and representation to public agencies on various issues related to natural resources, land use, irrigation, and public contracting.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and agreements related to natural resources and land use.
3. Representing clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations concerning natural resources, land use, irrigation, and public contracting.
4. Developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
5. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address complex environmental issues and challenges.
6. Conducting legal research and analysis on various environmental and natural resources matters.
7. Advising clients on risk management and mitigation strategies related to natural resources and environmental issues.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Natural Resources Attorney position should have the following qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in natural resources law, municipal law, or a related field.
4. Extensive knowledge of public agency law, land use, irrigation, and public contracting.
5. Proven experience in providing legal counsel to public agencies.
6. Exceptional negotiation, research, and drafting skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. A demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
