Funding for this position is between a minimum of $22.71 and maximum of $24.55 an hour.

Why does the job exist?
MVD Senior Agents are the front line of MVD's operations. Employees in this role process various vehicle and driver transactions that impact New Mexico residents and other users of the State's roads and highways. Driver transactions range from issuing identification cards to posting citation payments to a driver's record, for both commercial and non-commercial drivers.
How does it get done?
This position will be responsible for the following job duties:
Utilizes MVD's data systems to process vehicle and driver transactions.
Reviews each transaction's supporting documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal law.
Receives, processes, and accounts for payment for transactions conducted in person, by mail or by phone.
Provides quality customer service by greeting and serving customers in person and fielding inquiries made telephonically, via
the internet or by mail.
In field offices, this position is responsible for leaving the office to accompany drivers on road tests or to conduct VIN inspections.
Trains and tracks employee performance by assigning and evaluating job tasks.
Evaluates process flows to ensure work is completed on-time and efficiently and revises work flows if necessary.
Promotes quality customer service by applying customer sensitivity practices.
Keeps up-to-date with MVD policies and procedures by accessing any changes in the MVD manual. Acts as a liaison to courts,
law enforcement, and other government agencies.
Performs audits and verifies agent transactions and documents.
Reviews and provides feedback on new policies and procedure.
Assist in the lobby as needed or requested by management.

This position serves New Mexico taxpayers, Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD) employees and external state agencies.
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate will have experience in:
Customer service, interacting with the public and answering phones.
Working in high pressure, fast-paced work environment.
Working in a MVD office.
Minimum Qualification
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of general office, clerical, andor administrative experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field andor direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
