Municipal Law Attorney Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Municipal Law Attorney to provide high-quality legal counsel and representation to public agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled attorney passionate about municipal law, public service, and addressing complex legal matters in areas like land use, contracts, governance, and ordinance drafting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer clear and practical legal advice to public agencies, including cities and special districts, on intricate issues such as governance, contracts, and land use.
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and policies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Represent clients at city council meetings, planning commission hearings, and administrative proceedings.
- Collaborate with teams and clients to develop innovative legal solutions tailored to the unique challenges of public law.
- Provide training to public agency staff on key legal topics, including compliance, helping clients stay informed and prepared.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in municipal law, public agency law, or related fields preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal, with a sharp eye for detail.
- Proven ability to thrive in collaborative team settings and independently manage projects.
- Bonus: Experience in government contracting, land use, labor and employment law, or environmental law.
- JD from accredited law school.
- Licensed in CA in good standing.
