Our client is a leading UK food manufacturer with a well-established site in Long Sutton, operating one of the most advanced facilities in the industry. They're now looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their night shift engineering team.
Role Overview:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of a large-scale manufacturing site. You'll work across mechanical and electrical systems, supporting continuous production and contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
Shift Pattern & Hours:
- Permanent Nights: 18:00-06:00
- Shift Pattern: 3's & 2's (rotating)
- Mechanical/Electrical Split
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: 60,762.79 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive response to maintenance and breakdown issues to minimise downtime.
- Execute PPM schedules, repairs, CI initiatives, and capital work.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and food quality standards (GMP).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across engineering processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and senior leadership teams to meet operational targets.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and follow through on root cause fixes.
- Communicate effectively across departments and with external suppliers/contractors.
What You'll Bring:
- Time-served apprenticeship (multi-skilled preferred).
- Experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Skilled in fault finding, root cause analysis, and use of CMMS (preferably SAP).
- Strong diagnostic ability - mechanical, electrical, PLCs, and process systems.
- Solid understanding of H&S policies including permit to work systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
- A self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a team.
