Multi-Site Operations Leader - Charlotte, NC
A leading manufacturing company in the Charlotte, NC area is seeking a Multi-Site Operations Leader to lead Fabrication operations between 3 manufacturing plants, 10 fabrication sites for an $1B Industrial Machinery OEM company with complex rubber, plastic, metal, textile processes and world class engineering standards. Compensation: $170,000 - $210,000 + 7% Bonus.

Responsibilities:
- Operations Leader for fabrication, branch and field service operation, fabrication technology, fabrication and field service planning and control, HR-matters for all employees within area of responsibility.
- Responsibility for fabrication equipment and technology. Taking measures to ensure efficient fabrication with minimal downtime. Ensure repair & maintenance within the department as well to address to the maintenance department. Making qualified investment proposals for equipment. Managing daily business in a multi-shift operation.
- Continuous search for cost optimizations in all relevant areas ranging from fabrication process and field service improvements, projects for installing at customer side, repair and maintenance as well as HR-decisions to keep or make us competitive. Cost control of cost centers to stay within budget, analysis of deviations, initiation and execution of measures.
- Produces products in the quality required by customers at the lowest possible cost. Monitor existing KPIs, add and refine KPIs as appropriate together with Quality department. Cooperate closely with Quality, R&D, and Sales regarding quality issues.
- Responsible for norm-compliance in integrated management system (e.g. ISO 9001, 14001, 50001).
- Professional preparation of internal and external audits and timely follow-up regarding deviations / findings.
- Compliance with legal rules and regulations, including health, safety, environment.
- Compliance with internal policies.
- Responsible for all HR-matters of employees in direct area of responsibility. Ensure rapid and qualified onboarding of new staff. Develop skills and attitude of employees. Ensure timely and adequate succession planning.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of working environment as it relates to health, safety, ergonomics.
- Thorough understanding and close monitoring of relevant KPIs. Developing, refining of KPIs and reports as required. Analysis of KPIs and initiation of improvement measures. Timely reporting of relevant issues.
- Seamless cooperation and communication with other functional areas and sites to ensure proper flow of information and to gain and share ideas regarding product, cost, process improvements for the benefit of our customers. Act as a team player, ability to see the overall impact and benefit for the company and act accordingly.
- Collaboration with other functional areas at North Americas such as Sales, Production, R&D, Quality, FI or HR and members of the operations team.
- Ensuring a professional appearance and impeccable best in class behavior towards our customers.
- Professional fabrication and field service planning and control striking a good balance between efficiency and flexibility for excellent delivery performance required by our customers.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of fabrication and field service-related material to avoid bottlenecks.
- Create and further develop Lean culture in operations. Avoid wastage. Focus on and foster continuous improvement processes. Initiate, execute and control results of improvement projects. Implement and continuously apply state-of-the-art methods and lean tools in defining and running operational excellence projects.
Qualifications Seeking:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, plastic, chemical, manufacturing, etc.).
- Proven experience and strong knowledge in a fabrication management role, preferably within an exhibit design or related industry.
- Large single site or multi-site experience.
- Operations Leadership in a plastic-processing, rubber, textile, or similar industry.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and World Class Quality Methodologies and Best in Class Health and Safety Standards
- Good project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possesses a leadership maturity that sets that expectation of communicating a clear, concise, open and transparent manner inside and outside of the facility.
