Position Summary: The Manufacturing Team Leader (MTL) plays a key role in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. The MTL coordinates team workflows, supports employee development, drives continuous improvement, and acts as a liaison between frontline operators and management. This position is hands-on and requires leadership, accountability, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and support a team of production associates to achieve operational goals.

Monitor daily output to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies at all times.

Conduct shift start-up meetings, assign tasks, and adjust staffing as needed.

Identify and address process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

Support training and onboarding of new team members.

Perform and oversee in-process inspections and maintain production documentation.

Troubleshoot equipment or workflow issues, escalating when necessary.

Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to resolve production challenges.

Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and lean principles.

Track team performance metrics and contribute to performance evaluations.

Ensure accurate completion of shift handovers and production reports.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

1+ year in a leadership or lead operator role preferred.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.

Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and safety practices.

Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (ERP/MES a plus).
