POSITION PURPOSE: The Family Outreach Specialist is a full-time position that will provide family outreach for the MSAP (Magnet Schools Assistance Program). The Family Outreach Specialist is charged with building strong relationships with families and students in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Build strong relationships within the school community and across Hilton Head Island to promote the Global Exploration Magnet program.
- Meet with families individually and in small groups to provide information about the magnet program, address concerns, and encourage participation.
- Collaborate with school staff and community partners to identify and implement strategies for increasing family engagement and involvement in the magnet program.
- Develop and maintain resources and materials to support family outreach efforts, including informational materials, workshops, and events.
- Collect and analyze data on family engagement and program participation to inform ongoing outreach efforts and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with district administrators and Site Coordinators to share best practices and coordinate efforts across schools.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of MSAP, Chief Officer of Instructional Services, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree, working on Educational Leadership or Masters in a specific field is preferred but not required.
- Related experience and South Carolina certification (preferred).
- Minimum of three years of experience working with students and families required.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with diverse families and community members.
- Familiar with modern management methods and techniques.
- Experience encouraging high-performance involvement in educational processes.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate with others and build positive, trusting, and effective interpersonal relationships.
- Making recommendations and decisions and being responsible for those decisions.
- Has work with demonstrating knowledge of the perceived organizational implications of recommendations made by senior management staff.
- Knowledge of family engagement strategies and best practices in education.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve program goals and
- objectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
