An MRO Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services related to the maintenance and repair of machinery, tools, and facilities. They ensure that the organizations operations are running smoothly by sourcing high-quality products and services in a cost-effective and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for MRO items, negotiate contracts and pricing, and build strong relationships with key vendors to secure optimal terms and quality.
Demand Forecasting and Cost Optimization:
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to accurately forecast MRO needs based on equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational demands. Analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce MRO expenses while maintaining quality standards.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and control MRO inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excessive stock, optimizing storage and utilizing inventory management systems.
Procurement Processes:
- Develop and maintain standardized purchasing procedures, including purchase order creation, and supplier performance tracking.
Risk Mitigation:
- Proactively identify and manage potential supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to MRO purchasing, such as on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Problem-Solving & Reporting
- Resolve procurement issues such as delays or damaged goods. Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on purchasing activities to senior management.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices
- Expertise in MRO category management
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Analytical skills to interpret data and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
