Role Overview
The Moulding Lead Maintenance Engineer will oversee the maintenance and reliability of injection moulding equipment and processes. This role involves leading a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure high operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards. The engineer will also act as deputy to the Facilities & Sustainability Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring high performance and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Be available for on-call duties as per operational needs, in accordance with the Working Time Directive.
- Support facilities technicians and energy management projects.
- Supervise daily maintenance operations.
- Plan work assignments, RAMS, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Manage stock control and procurement.
- Gather data for TPM and drive continuous improvements.
- Coordinate with production to minimize stoppages.
- Collaborate with engineering on projects.
- Oversee contractors, including risk assessments and CDM compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Experience with injection moulding machines and robotics.
- Understanding of environmental procedures.
- 18th edition IEE regulations.
- Strong PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Engineering degree or equivalent (desirable).
