Learn About a Day in the Life of a Monitor Technician: Responsibilities Provide advanced ECG while concentrating on monitoring patient status through assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during code, and continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias and interval measurements. Appropriately responding to all monitor alarms. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Telemetry Certification or ability to obtain certification CPR/BLS certification CBO; Medical Terminology Preferred Job Requirements: Associates degree in a related field One (1) year in specialty area, rhythm recognition skill set
