Role: MONGO Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Jackson, MI, Hybrid (Remote and On-Site) required from day one of the assignment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive DBA support for Mongo databases, focusing on database engineering for performance, reliability, scalability, and supportability.
  • Facilitate database migrations and upgrades, development of operating procedures, and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Database Platform team, project teams, and application vendor teams in requirements gathering, analysis, development, and implementation.
  • Determine and implement best practices for Mongo databases concerning reliability, performance, scalability, and supportability.
  • Define project timelines, schedule database upgrades, and communicate milestones effectively.
  • Understand and adhere to, or possibly define, unique Database Standards and Processes for Mongo.
  • Ensure adherence to and enforcement of DB Standards and Policies.
  • Provide post-migration support and resolve related issues.
  • Work with teams to resolve performance issues and align architectural requirements.
  • Document upgrade results, findings, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure Operation Support documentation is developed and up to date.
  • Perform Knowledge Transfer (KT) to Database Platform teams and participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) tests if required.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX Standards, if applicable.
Skills and Experience:
  • Required: 7+ years of experience in DBA support for Mongo systems, with proficiency in Mongo 3.4 and above. Experience in Unix/Linux/Windows environments and extensive knowledge in Mongo database standards, upgrades, migrations, and best practices. Advanced performance & tuning skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL Server 2016 and above, Oracle 19 and above, Service Now, and MS Azure ADO.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another technical field.
Additional Skills:
  • Experience with UNIX, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance, liaison roles, MS SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, ability to follow processes, and commitment to developing & adhering to standards and procedures.
  • Good team working skills and capability of working independently in a high-pressure environment.
