The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoD. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E , Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S , DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enable a strategy of technological superiority and deliver secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have an immediate need for a Modeling and Simulation Analyst to provide onsite support out of SPA Headquarters in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities The candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams of modelers, operations analysts, and technical analysts to support several clients in OUSD(R&E). Will be responsible for designing and executing analysis to help solve complex problems that inform senior leaders across the organization. Apply proficiency at mission-level modeling and simulation to understand operational utility of emerging technology in future operating environments. Perform client and stakeholder engagement, including briefing high-quality results to both techincal and non-technical audiences. We are seeking a team-oriented candidate with strong analytical skills that can engage with clients and prioritize across concurrent projects. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.) 2-8 years of relevant professional experience supporting the DoD in conducting analysis, modeling, and simulation Able to design and execute analytic projects that deliver high-impact results Able to work onsite full-time based on client needs Active DoD Top Secret clearance Desired: Proficient with mission-level modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM Familiarity with OUSD(R&E) and critical technology areas
