Job Description BAE Systems is actively seeking a dynamic Model Based Systems Engineer, preferably with a US Navy background, to support the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) in Arlington, VA. This exciting international program includes 12 member nations, including the US. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive MBSE, engineering, and programmatic support to the NSPO Technical Director for the ESSM Block 1 and Block 2 programs, including associated Combat Systems and launching platforms. This role entails leading the adoption and consistent application of MBSE tools, managing the creation and governance of system models in partnership with BAE and government teams, conducting model-based and traditional SETR events, and driving Digital Engineering initiatives. The candidate will also contribute to program planning, management, modeling, and simulation for shipboard missiles and Fire Control Systems, ensuring seamless integration with US and International systems. Key Responsibilities of this position includes, but is not limited to: Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Promoting MBSE tools and ensuring their consistent application across projects. Managing the creation and governance of accurate and consistent system models, supporting NSPO customer and BAE Systems MBSE teams. Assisting with or leading model-based Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events, such as Critical Design Reviews. Creating model-based performance analyses and status presentations for program management. Implementing Digital Engineering (DE) initiatives on-site at NSPO. Enhancing collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of models in the development lifecycle. Selecting and implementing the most suitable MBSE tools, along with providing necessary training and support. Establishing quality assurance processes to ensure the fidelity and reliability of system models. Integrating MBSE into project planning and execution, aligning with both traditional and agile methodologies to ensure the timely completion of modeling tasks. Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Planning and Management: Provide system engineering support services to the Technical Director for the acquisition and development of new combat systems, weapon systems, and upgrades to existing products. Collaborate with other Technical Divisions to develop Technical Review Action Plans (TRAP) for various Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Schedule, support, or participate in SETR events, ensuring technical documentation meets standards and offers clear, accurate information for decision-making, and provide informed recommendations to the Technical Director. Maintain expertise in industry trends, technologies, and best practices in systems engineering and acquisition, with a focus on Model Based System Engineering (MBSE). Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven 5 years of MBSE and Systems Engineering experience across the SE lifecycle preferably in a DoD setting. In-depth understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, MBSE, and best practices. Demonstrated experience in SETR related processes. Proficiency in SysML, along with hands-on experience with specialized tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Simulation Toolkit, and Teamwork Cloud, as well as programming languages and platforms such as MATLAB, Python, Java, and CAD etc. Experience in application of modeling to support a system's or SoS' requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle phases. Experience implementing a model-based culture, leveraging capabilities of the digital enterprise environment infrastructure of the organization. Familiarity with USN weapon systems. Working knowledge and ability to use Microsoft O ffi ce Suite SW products. Strong technical and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills: Master's degree in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, or another related engineering or computer science discipline. Demonstrated experience with naval program acquisition processes and lifecycle management. Proficient in technical documentation and engineering review processes. Knowledge/Experience supporting the NSPO Project. Understanding of current and emerging naval technologies and their applications. Project management skills and experience with managing complex technical projects. A current active Secret level clearance. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
