Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is actively hiring Medical Doctors (MDs/DOs) across Nevada to lead mobile wound care services. Our physician-led model brings specialized wound care directly to the bedside in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) , long-term care centers , and private residences -delivering exceptional outcomes, reducing hospitalizations, and expanding access to care in both metro and underserved regions.

Core Clinical Team Member (Direct Hire - W-2)

Active malpractice insurance at the time of contracting

Mileage is not reimbursed by OWP; contractors are responsible for tracking and reporting mileage as a business expense during annual tax filings
Contractor roles do not include employee benefits or tax withholding

Schedule & Shift Expectations
Minimum commitment: 2 shifts per week
Typical shift length: 8-9 hours, depending on patient volume and geography
Full-time eligibility: 30+ hours per week
Travel requirement: up to 70 miles per day within your assigned region
Weekend and on-call assignments may be scheduled with advance notice

Core Responsibilities

Wound Care Physicians with Omni Wound Physicians are responsible for independently managing a mobile patient caseload and delivering advanced bedside care across a variety of long-term care environments. This is a procedure-intensive role that requires strong clinical judgment, self-direction, and a commitment to service excellence.

Physicians must be able to consistently and effectively:
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex wounds, including but not limited to diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, pressure injuries (Stage I-IV), surgical wounds, and post-traumatic wounds
Perform bedside clinical procedures, including sharp/excisional debridement, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), tissue biopsies, and gastrostomy tube care
Monitor wound healing trajectories and adjust plans of care in accordance with clinical progress and best practice protocols
Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on wound prevention, wound healing, aftercare, and appropriate escalation
Secure informed patient consent for wound care services and procedures in accordance with clinical, legal, and regulatory standards
Document clinical encounters accurately, thoroughly, and in real time using OWP's HIPAA-compliant electronic health record (EHR) platform
Collaborate with facility nursing teams, interdisciplinary providers, and OWP's internal care coordinators to maintain care continuity, communication, and regulatory compliance
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer case reviews, clinical education, documentation audits, and workflow optimization processes

Physicians must also be willing and able to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of patient care, organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Wound Care Experience - Preferred, Not Required

Experienced Wound Care Physicians

If you already specialize in wound care or routinely manage complex wounds in practice, you'll have the autonomy and infrastructure needed to perform at your highest level from day one.

Physicians Without Prior Wound Care Experience

You do not need prior wound care experience to succeed at OWP-but you must be clinically confident, eager to grow, and comfortable with procedural care. Many of our top-performing physicians have successfully transitioned from internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, surgery, or hospitalist backgrounds.

Candidate Requirements

Required:
MD or DO degree
Active, unrestricted Nevada medical license
Board certification in Surgery (preferred), Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or OB/GYN
3-6 years of post-residency clinical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid Nevada driver's license and access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle

Preferred:
Enrollment in a wound care certification program (CWSP, CWS) within 2-3 months of onboarding
DEA registration is not required but strongly preferred ; candidates with an active DEA license will be prioritized for full-scope care delivery
Prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, home-based care, or procedural field medicine
Familiarity with mobile EHR workflows and field-based documentation

Physical and Driving Requirements

This is a field-based, in-person care position involving frequent travel and bedside clinical care. The following essential functions apply to all physician roles:
Mobility and Endurance: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform clinical procedures for extended periods
Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, and transport up to 25 pounds (e.g., clinical bags, medical equipment, laptops)
Driving and Transportation:
Drive up to 70 miles daily between patient care sites
Maintain a valid driver's license in good standing
Provide proof of personal vehicle insurance meeting Nevada's minimum coverage requirements
Operate a personal vehicle safely and in accordance with all traffic laws and company standards
Technology Use: Must use a mobile device (tablet or laptop) for point-of-care documentation in the electronic health record system
Work Environment Accessibility: Must be able to enter and exit skilled nursing facilities and private residences, including those without elevator access or ADA-compliant entry points

Full Practice Authority: MDs and DOs may independently diagnose, treat, and prescribe
Controlled Substances: Requires Nevada State Board of Pharmacy registration and DEA licensure (if prescribing controlled substances)
Continuing Medical Education (CME): 40 hours every two years
Must include 2 hours in opioid prescribing and 2 hours in suicide prevention or behavioral health
License Renewal: Biennial, through the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners
