We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mobile Mechanic to join our team and provide on-site maintenance and repair services for our sawmill machinery and equipment.

Job Overview: As a Mobile Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of mechanical systems and machinery used in sawmill operations. You will travel to various sites within our operation, ensuring all equipment runs efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on sawmill machinery, including saws, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and other equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on-site, including troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls, providing prompt and effective solutions to minimize production delays.
  • Ensure all machinery is operating at peak efficiency, performing regular inspections and servicing.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the equipment and machinery used in the sawmill process.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to schedule repairs and downtime to minimize disruption to production.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing all duties.
  • Provide technical support and advice to sawmill staff on equipment-related issues.
  • Order parts and supplies as needed for maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in mechanical repair or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a mobile mechanic, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or sawmill environment.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with the machinery and equipment used in sawmill operations is a significant advantage.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable with standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
