MLT Medical Lab Technician

•  Performs clinical laboratory testing in multiple sections (e.g., Blood Bank, Microbiology) ensuring accurate, timely results and adherence to quality control, performance improvement, proficiency testing, and equipment maintenance procedures.

•  Collects and processes blood and other specimens; performs phlebotomy and clerical tasks.

•  Recognizes critical values and promptly notifies the medical team; dispenses blood products as requested.

•  Follows all safety, compliance, and laboratory standards (CAP, CLIA, AABB, JCAHO, OSHA); utilizes LIS/HIS systems.

•  Requires an associate degree or equivalent in lab science/technology and appropriate training/rotation; Louisiana state license as applicable.

•  Full-time position; board certification required within one year if eligible.
