Mission Support Specialist Job Category: Intelligence Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local The Opportunity: As a Mission Support Specialist, you will contribute directly to national security as a key advisor and operations expert supporting critical DoD strategies and initiatives. You will serve as a crucial link between forward-deployed elements, Combatant Commands, and senior leadership, ensuring the seamless flow of information and resources to support critical operations. You will leverage operational experience, planning skills, and knowledge management expertise to directly impact the customers' ability to protect the nation from evolving threats. You will have the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, contribute to innovative solutions, and proactively address challenges. You will be a key player in maintaining situational awareness, developing courses of action, and ensuring the readiness of customer elements to respond effectively to emerging threats around the globe. Responsibilities: The Mission Support Specialist will serve as a critical bridge between strategic objectives and operational execution, providing expert support to ensure the customers readiness and effectiveness in countering emerging threat networks. A core function in this role in managing support to the forward-deployed footprint and the Operations Directorate's requirements. This involves maintaining accurate data on personnel, equipment, and resources, utilizing dashboards and systems to track and analyze resource allocation and pre-deployment readiness. You will collaborate closely with customer Combatant Command Representatives and internal stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met and support is effectively delivered. This position demands a strong understanding of operational planning, deployment processes, and interagency coordination. You will be responsible for actioning Request for Information (RFI's) task, ensuring timely and accurate responses. You will contribute to deliberate and rapid planning efforts, identifying gaps and recommending improved courses of action. This includes supporting the development of mission-type orders and fragmentary orders. You will also play a key role in maintaining situational awareness, conducting mission analysis, and providing informed recommendations to senior leadership. Additionally, you will serve as a program advisor and operations expert in support of supported customers. You will develop, evaluate, coordinate, and facilitate operational support, plans, guidance, and activities across various directorates and with external stakeholders. Qualifications: Required: Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
Must be able to work independently with some government oversight and function effectively as part of a team in a joint working environment.
Periodic travel to support requirements.
You must possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
You will be able to provide daily feedback to the team lead and supported unit on product development.
Willing to work rotating shifts if needed.
Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience or ten years of relevant work experience.
Experience working at or with Military Headquarters and Combatant Commands. Desired: Experience working in Cross Functional Teams, Operational Planning Teams, and other groups that aim to bring disparate capabilities together to achieve military effects.
Deployed experience (military, contractor or government civilian).
10 years, or greater, experience in a DoD Service, Agency, or Organization.
