AgSource Laboratories is seeking a Milk Instrument Operator & Maintenance Technician to join our team full time in Marshfield, WI. As a member of our milk laboratory, you would be responsible for operating automated milk testing equipment including setup, calibration testing, shutdown, repair, and maintenance. Our ideal candidate would possess a curiosity in mechanics while acting as a team player in the functionality of our lab. This opportunity would allow for someone to have variety and challenges in their day to day work as they provide repairs and preventative maintenance to our machines. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform laboratory tests with automated machines in accordance with state and federal guidelines, to include calibration, sample preparation, sample analysis, recording results, sample disposal and machine shut down. Provide maintenance to milk testing machines. Maintain supplies and parts needed for preventative and routine maintenance. Record problems, repairs, and any pertinent information for each machine in a separate log. Responsible for notifying Laboratory Manager of supplies needed in advance. Prepare necessary buffer solutions and dyes. Maintain laboratory activity reports on machines, including Milk Standard Calibration, daily data sheets, and producer (co-op) calibrations. Distribute monthly Producer (co-op) and Federal Milk Market calibrations to the FDA. Communicate with customers effectively as needed. Keep current on lab methods, procedures, and certifications. Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace. Use personal protective and safety equipment as required. Follow safe work procedures and report unsafe conditions and injuries immediately. Perform other related functions assigned by manager. REQUIREMENTS Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proven organizational and time management skills. Detail orientated nature. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel. Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow and deadlines. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED. 0 to 2+ years laboratory experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Bending, stooping, pulling/pushing, and twisting required. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving consistently during working hours. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
