Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) - Summer Camp (On-Demand) Location: YMCA Camp Classen, 10840 Main Camp Rd, Davis, OK Dates: July 20-25, 2025 Position Overview Blue Rose Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) to support a one-week summer camp for military children at YMCA Camp Classen. The role focuses on providing behavioral and emotional support to children ages 8-15, most of whom are from families of wounded, injured, ill, or fallen service members. This unique opportunity allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people while working in a vibrant, outdoor camp environment. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site, non-medical counseling for campers ages 8-15, addressing topics such as separation anxiety, homesickness, bullying, anger management, and confidence building. Act as a behavioral health resource and emotional support figure for campers throughout the duration of camp. Partner with the camp director and staff to identify and assist campers in need of intervention. Coach and support camp staff in managing behavioral issues, promoting positive interactions, and ensuring a healthy camp environment. Rotate duties with a second MFLC to ensure continuous coverage and availability. Minimum Qualifications Active MFLC certification or comparable credentials in non-medical counseling or youth mental health support. Demonstrated experience supporting children and adolescents, particularly those experiencing trauma, grief, or behavioral challenges. Comfortable working in outdoor and high-energy environments with large groups of children. Proven ability to maintain professionalism and emotional regulation in dynamic or high-stress situations. Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to support both children and adult staff.
