Overview This position is contingent upon award of contract SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Military Analyst Lead to serve as the Government's trusted advisor to individual offices and to provide leadership and guidance for contractor analysts assigned to the contract. Essential Job Duties Supervises and leads a team of military analysts in the research and analysis of regional insurgencies and construction of order of battles. Supervise personnel, provides monthly contractual reports to the government, and interacts with government personnel. Minimum Requirements Active in scope TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required. Bachelor's degree in military history, political science, international relations, security studies, or other social science related discipline. (5 years of relevant work experience in analytic support to military analysis will be considered in lieu of a degree.) Ten to Fifteen (10 to 15) years of relevant experience, to include Mid-level analyst experience, plus: research and analysis of regional insurgencies. Preferred Qualifications. Proven military- related research and analysis experience with country- and regional-specific conventional and strategic military forces. Experience or expertise in relevant country of focus. DESIRED: Experience working with arms control information sources, such as the Global Exchange of Military Information (GEMi) and the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty, among others. Experience with the Department of Defense order of battle information system known as the Modernized Integrated Database MIDB). Advanced expertise and demonstrated ability to construct OB on conventional and strategic military forces. Familiarity with information management systems used by the government agency and IC, including but not limited to, GoogleEarth, IntelMapper, Arc View. Experience searching classified and unclassified literature for ground, naval, and air forces information. Demonstrated experience using various presentation formats such as maps, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and other reports to display results of analysis. Demonstrated experience updating and manipulating data using Microsoft-Office products (especially MS Excel). Proficient in working with and updating a webbased database system. Preferred Qualifications Advanced expertise and demonstrated experience independently constructing OBs on complex and dynamic insurgency forces. Familiarity with Intelligence Community gazetteers and tools to identify relevant locational data. Familiarity with exploiting metadata for all-source military analysis. Reading proficiency in a foreign language associated with country of focus. Two to five (2-5) years of relevant work experience or expertise in relevant country of focus.
