Position will remain open until filledRequested start date: 04/14/2025 Salary Stipend Range: • $2,468.84 - $2,676.04
Benefits Include: • I-1433 Sick Leave, the employee will accrue at least one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked
Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED is required
- Must be at least 21 years or older
- Current First Aid and CPR endorsement or be enrolled in the course
- Must have a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance check (fee paid by employee)
- Meet the WIAA coaching standard criteria
- Clear communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the sport skill, strategy and rules
- Prior coaching experience or playing experience in the sport is given preference
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
Responsibilities :
• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the track team
• Plan and organize team practice and meets
• Provide instruction and guidance to team members on proper running techniques and strategies
• Monitor and evaluate team members' progress and performance
• Communicate effectively with team members, parents, and school administrators
• Ensure the safety and well-being of team members during practices and meets
• Provide direct ongoing supervision of all athletes, manage before/during/after all practices/conditioning sessions games/travel and other school-sanctioned events
• Maintain accurate records and statistics on team members' performance
• Attend and participate in team meetings, parent meetings, and school events as required
- Report all injuries to the Athletic Director and complete appropriate report(s)
- Immediately reports all violations or suspected violations of established rules and regulations to the Athletic Director
- Organizes and conducts, in coordination with Athletic Director, parent meetings prior to the season and provides ongoing parent communication throughout the season
- Provide guidance, leadership, and the fundamental skills necessary to execute the program in a successful manner
- Assume the leadership role in relation to team organization, style of play, practice schedules, equipment and assigned responsibilities
- Assume responsibility clearing all athletes who are returning to play after an injury through the Athletic Director
- Monitors student compliance with all provisions of the ESD Athletic Code, and comply with WIAA Rules and Regulations
- Organizes award and recognition for athletes/participants
Requirements :
• Previous coaching experience in track or a related sport
• Strong knowledge of track training techniques and strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administrators
• Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their best
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for athletic activities
• Availability to work during the track season, including evenings and weekends as required.
