Head Coach & Assistant Coach - Middle School Football
Chowan Middle School (CMS) Edenton-Chowan Schools
In collaboration with Chowan Middle Schooll (CMS), John A Holmes (JAH) is restructuring its Junior Varsity and middle school football program and is currently seeking two dedicated and qualified individuals to fill the roles of Head Football Coach and Assistant Football Coach.
We are looking for passionate educators and/or coaches who are committed to positively impacting the lives of young student-athletes through the game of football. Ideal candidates should possess prior coaching experience, a comprehensive understanding of offensive, defensive, and special teams concepts, and a strong desire to build meaningful and lasting relationships with student-athletes across Chowan County.
As CMS serves as the sole feeder program for JAH, selected candidates will be expected to align closely with the high school's football systems. This includes implementing schemes, terminology, and philosophies that mirror those used at JAH, ensuring a smooth and cohesive transition for athletes as they progress through the program.
Upcoming Program Changes:As part of our program realignment, Edenton-Chowan Schools will begin transitioning to a 7th-9th Grade Football Model. The Fall 2025 season will mark the final year under the current 7th and 8th grade team structure. Beginning in Fall 2026, CMS 7th and 8th graders will join 9th graders at JAH to form a unified 7-9 football team. This new model aims to enhance player development and streamline the feeder system into high school football.
Under this revised structure, the CMS Head and Assistant Coaches, along with the 7th and 8th grade football players will fall under the direct supervision of:
- The Head Football Coach at JAH
- The Athletic Director at JAH
- The Principal at JAH
We are seeking the two candidates best suited to support a seamless transition and who are committed to the long-term success and culture of Edenton-Chowan football.
