05/05/2025 Position: Middle School Coach - BOYS MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Reports To: Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach

Dates: Regular Season runs from September 1 through October 22

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Make academics THE priority
2. Support ALL Saugatuck Athletic Programs
3. Ensure that all athletes participate with the goal of keeping athletes engages and participating long-term
4. Practice each day after school
5. Collaborate with higher-level coaches and athletes when appropriate
6. Coordinate practices with other varsity coaches - common system and verbiage
7. Aid the varsity program if/when appropriate
8. Continuously coordinate with the Athletic Trainer in regard to eligibility
9. Work with the Athletic Trainer in regard to injuries
10. Establish a communication line with athletes and families of athletes
11. Collaborate with other coaches if and when a dual-sport situation arises
12. Complete and submit a pre and post-season inventory
13. Maintain sport specific facility and fitness center and report any/all facility maintenance needs to the Athletic Director and Maintenance
14. Provide proper safeguards for the maintenance and protection of assigned equipment
15. Performs other duties that are consistent with the nature of the positions and that may be requested by the Varsity Head Coach
16. Complete any coaching evaluation

Complete the following certifications and rules meetings if applicable (paid for by the District)

1. Complete and/all applicable MHSAA rules meetings prior to the season
2. Become CPR certified or renew CPR certification (must be up to date prior to the beginning of sport season)
