Description

Leidos is seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to join our team, supporting a cutting-edge, near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) toolset vital for military operations. This role involves contributing your expertise to enhance the sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across various functions. As a Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing and managing systems-level requirements, operational concepts, and conducting systems integration and testing for complex systems. Your interactions with users will be key as you translate their needs into comprehensive systems, hardware, and software requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage system-level requirements and concepts related to complex systems.
  • Engage with systems users to convert their needs into coherent system, hardware, and software specifications.
  • Contribute to the formulation of test strategies.
  • Address and resolve engineering challenges within your assigned functional area.
  • Plan and execute engineering research and development activities according to design, engineering, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate on security measures to safeguard systems against unauthorized access and modifications.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 2 years of experience. Alternatively, an Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Degree in computer science, Information systems, Engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in engineering roles related to DoD programs/projects.
  • Proficiency in requirements analysis, design and coding methodologies, documentation standards, configuration management, and DoD software policies.
  • Familiarity with agile software development practices and systems engineering best practices.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate technology trends to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • An active secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security + certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with geospatial software products, particularly the Esri suite.
  • Familiarity with DevOps environments and the Atlassian tool suite.

Pay Range: Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee a specific salary. Several factors are considered in extending an offer, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
