The Boeing Company is currently seeking a high performing Mid-Level System Administrator to join our team in El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; or Tukwila, WA. The System Administrator will be a part of the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure & Operations team that provides and employs best practices when implementing security requirements within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques to protect classified and proprietary information. These opportunities include development and integration of a variety of system hardware and software application(s) supporting our engineering and manufacturing teams. The System Administrator will also work within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results, this position requires a positive attitude, self-motivation, the ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Position Responsibilities: Performs computing delivery system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems
Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems
Administers user's system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements
Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning
Mentors, leads and trains others Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
3+ years of experience administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements
3+ years of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2016 - 2019 and Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 10
3+ years of experience deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)
3+ years of experience working in a lab test, factory test, or similar test environment
Experience working on classified networks
Active Counter Intelligence (CI) polygraph with the ability to obtain a Full Scope Polygraph
Active Security+ or the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of your start date
Able to travel 10% of the time Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
Experience with active directory (AD) to include applying domain group policies
Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
Experience developing PowerShell scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets, automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
Experience in Agile Methodologies
Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration,
