A prominent law firm based in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a litigation associate with mid-to-senior level experience to support a broad array of commercial and insurance-related dispute matters. Duties:
- Manage various phases of civil litigation, including initial filings, discovery, pretrial motions, trial preparation, and appeals.
- Draft substantive legal documents, including memoranda, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
- Lead and coordinate discovery efforts, including depositions, document production, and written discovery.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis of case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and subject matter experts.
- Participate in case strategy development and contribute to team-based problem-solving.
Requirements:
- 4-8 years of substantive experience in commercial litigation, including exposure to insurance-related matters.
- Demonstrated case-handling skills appropriate for experience level, including client engagement and adversary communication.
- Strong oral and written advocacy abilities.
- Familiarity with deposition practice and courtroom procedures preferred.
- Active license to practice law in the State of California and in good standing.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the California Bar (mandatory).
