Job Title: Mid-Level Labor And Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a mid-level associate attorney to join its Labor & Employment team. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience handling both class-based and individual employment matters, including compliance issues and litigation strategy. This opportunity offers the chance to work on diverse labor and employment issues across a variety of sectors, while supporting employers in maintaining proactive workplace practices and navigating complex employment law matters.

Duties:

  • Handle employment-related litigation, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, harassment, and retaliation matters

  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws

  • Draft and review employment contracts, workplace policies, and employee handbooks

  • Assist in representing management in labor relations matters, including collective bargaining and labor arbitrations

  • Provide legal counsel on leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, and employee terminations

  • Contribute to client strategy development and legal risk assessments

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders as needed

  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and court proceedings

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employment litigation and advisory work

  • Prior experience representing employers in both class actions and individual cases

  • Familiarity with traditional labor law is considered an advantage

  • Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing

  • Strong writing, communication, and legal research skills

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently within a collaborative environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and analysis

  • Strong oral advocacy and litigation skills

  • Ability to interpret complex labor regulations and statutes

  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment

  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
