Description Leidos Intelligence Group is urgently seeking a dedicated Exploitation Specialist/Data Manager to support our operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those looking to make a significant impact in data management and database administration.
Staffing Requirement: As a Database Management Specialist, you will provide critical support involving the management of databases, refining data attribution, executing complex queries, and migrating data from legacy systems. Your expertise will help identify inconsistencies in data entry and enhance overall data quality.
Duties: - Oversee PostgreSQL and Oracle databases that store geodetic and geophysical survey data, ensuring compliance with defined standards and improving accessibility.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including SGOs, Requirements Managers, Mission Managers, and Tech Teams to refine data formats and establish or revise data standards.
- Contribute to updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), geodetic standards, and other related documentation, enhancing the data management process.
- Ensure accuracy in data files, validating that they are attributed and formatted in accordance with relevant SOPs before uploading to the current PostgreSQL Geodetic Surveys Database (GSD).
- Facilitate migration of legacy data from Oracle, removable media, shared drives, and hard copy formats to the GSD.
- Verify data and report accessibility through customer interfaces like GeoSAPP, Map of the World (MoW), GRiD, and ACES.
- Gather user feedback to assess database accessibility, data query attribution sufficiency, and ease of data uploads.
- Keep the Requirements Manager, Mission Managers, and senior leads updated on project status and competitions.
- Identify potential data sources or optimization techniques for the package generation process.
- Ensure that data is accessible from various geographically separated branches.
Skills and Experience: Required - A BA degree with 4 - 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2 - 6 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL database design, including relational model building.
- Proficient in migrating data from legacy databases and digital storage systems.
- Experience with data quality analysis, preparation, cleansing, and transformation.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
- Familiarity with NSG standards and related organizations like GWG, NCGIS, ITSC, DISR, and ICSR.
- Experience with XML, XML Schema Documents (XSD), Geography Markup Language (GML), and Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess TS/SCI Clearance.
Desired - STEM Degree.
- Keen understanding of NGA systems architecture and unclassified cloud environments.
