Our client, a leading technology solutions provider, is seeking a Microsoft Exchange Help Desk Consultant to join their team supporting an important federal agency. This role is based in Washington, DC, with work hours Tuesday through Saturday, 6/7 am - 2/3 pm and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical program supporting global information technology services users on a 24x7x365 basis. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizen, possessing a Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain Microsoft Windows Server and Exchange Systems.
• Handle technical work assignments using tools such as ServiceNow and SCOM monitoring.
• Manage email account administration, including user account and mailbox moves on Exchange 2019.
• Perform M365 account administration and manage Distribution Lists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Outlook Client issues, including setup, permissions, junk mail, and mailbox size adjustments.
• Provide technical support for backup systems (Avamar and CommVault) following SOPs.
• Assist with PST mapping modifications and restores.
• Complete shift logs, ensure timely responses to inquiries, and maintain SLA and MTTR standards.
• Document issues and escalate to the next tier of support as needed.
• Monitor system consoles, remediate alerts, and perform server builds and decommissions. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience with Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange.
• Proven ability to work independently, managing technical service requests in enterprise ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
• Proficient in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining data entry standards.
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues and determining when to escalate.
• Basic proficiency with PowerShell, Exchange, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 hybrid environments and TCP/IP networking concepts.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for effective problem escalation.
• US Citizenship and an Active Top Secret clearance required. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Operations Manager (SCOM).
• Knowledge of Avamar and CommVault backup systems.
• CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+ certifications.
