Job Summary
Needs to be engineer level ( meaning engineer, implement, support, troubleshoot) in the Desktop OS space, M365/O365, browser management and GPO's.
The Windows Desktop Engineer and M365 Specialist will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 desktop environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across the organization. This role requires an experienced professional who can effectively address performance issues, has a deep understanding of Office/M365, and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs). The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Design/Build/Manage/Maintain the Windows 10/11 desktop environment
Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues in Windows 10/11 desktop environments
Design/Build/Manage/Maintain the M365 application suite with cloud management
Diagnose and remediate Office/M365 application issues, addressing system slowness and functionality problems
Create, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to ensure proper configuration and security
Manage corporate Web browser experience using Chrome Enterprise and MS Edge
Design and develop automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting technologies
Provide senior-level technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software problems efficiently
Monitor system performance and develop proactive solutions for continuous improvement
Document procedures, solutions, and best practices for knowledge sharing
Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Windows desktop engineering and support roles
Proven expertise in troubleshooting Windows 10/11 performance issues using advanced diagnostic tools
Comprehensive knowledge of Office/M365 applications suite and solving complex application issues
Advanced experience with GPO creation, implementation, and troubleshooting
Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks
Solid understanding of Active Directory administration and integration
Expert knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation and management presentations
Advanced troubleshooting skills utilizing event logs, System Internals tools, and performance monitors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Proven ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure
Experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
Citrix virtualization experience, particularly with XenApp/XenDesktop/Virtual Apps and Desktops
Microsoft certifications (Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert)
Experience with endpoint security solutions and management tools
Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and services integration
Experience with conferencing software administration (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management frameworks
