Job Title: Methods Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
Job Location: Southampton
Salary: 55,0000 (plus shift allowances)
Hours Per Week: 40hrs per week
Duration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026

They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.

Position Summary:
This role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards. Key responsibilities will include:

Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM's)
Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings
Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)
Working of layout of workstations and storage areas
Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures
Continual evaluations of tooling
Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems
Create lesson plans for Production Team
Promote best and safe practice
Support audits
Make methods and quality improvements

Qualifications:
Degree, HNC or HND (engineering)

Functional Knowledge:
Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication
Good HSE knowledge
Keen eye for detail
Strong communication skills
Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)
