Job Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the casting and refining processes of Copper and Copper-based alloys.
- Work closely with engineering and management teams to identify capital investment opportunities.
- Lead projects aimed at improving energy efficiency.
- Serve as the expert in casting and refining operations.
- Enhance operational efficiency by cultivating a performance-driven culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Implement waste reduction initiatives.
- Design and implement training programs to promote best-in-class safety practices and operational processes.
- Develop and optimize material charging procedures to minimize material costs.
- Maintain product quality and maximizing machine uptime.
- Oversee the testing and quality control processes related to raw material procurement.
- Provide expert analysis and insights to support product quality claims.
- Increase the use of recycled materials and automating labor-intensive processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemistry required.
- P.E. License preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
- Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals like thermodynamics, physics, strength of materials, failure analysis, and basic metallurgy.
- Technical knowledge and experience with copper related processes is highly beneficial.
