An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip Fitter to join a professional team at a state-of-the-art bodyshop facility. You'll be responsible for the meticulous disassembly and reassembly of vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities of an MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip Fitter:
- Carry out repairs and part replacements on damaged vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
- Complete disassembly and reassembly work as required for body repair.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Collaborate with your team to ensure an efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work carried out.
- Comply with health and safety procedures at all times.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.
Skills and Qualifications for an MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip Fitter:
- Recognised apprenticeship and relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ).
- Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and trim repairs.
- Experience with geometry and four-wheel alignment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to quality.
Desirable
Diagnostic training and advanced fault-finding skills.
