We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Merchandising Assistant to join our team in Los Angeles. This in-person role will support various aspects of product development, production, and inventory management. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining purchase orders, managing sample flows, overseeing vendor communications, and ensuring that all processes are on track for key product launches. The ideal candidate will have experience with Shopify, a passion for the retail industry, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Purchase Order Management: Write and maintain purchase orders (POs) and ensure the style master is kept up-to-date with key details like retail prices, costs, and IMU percentages.
  • PO Log & Cost File Management: Assist in maintaining the purchase order log and cost file to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ownership of PO Creation: Take full ownership of the purchase order creation process, collaborating with vendors and the buying team to ensure accurate and continuous item maintenance.
  • Vendor Communication: Manage prompt and professional communication with vendors, ensuring that all inquiries and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Sample Management: Handle all aspects of sample management, including receiving samples, recording sample movements in the loan room, and ensuring timely delivery to internal teams.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners, ensuring vendor contact information is always up-to-date and communication is seamless. Arranging local shipments and pick ups when necessary.
  • Label Artwork Review: Review label artworks for accuracy, providing approval to factories to move forward with production.
  • UPC/SKU Management: Ensure that all products are accurately tracked and assigned UPCs and SKUs within internal systems.
  • International Compliance: Manage Dangerous Goods Certification for international shipments, ensuring compliance with global standards.
  • File Organization: Keep files and documents organized within Google Drive, ensuring quick access and efficient file management.
  • Timeline and Project Management: Assist in monitoring project lead times and ensuring key launch dates are met, in coordination with wholesale deadlines.
  • Shopify Management: Utilize Shopify to track inventory, process orders, and update product listings. Experience with Shopify is a must.
  • Inventory and Sales App Integration: Implement and manage the integration of inventory and sales apps into Shopify, ensuring smooth operations and accurate data synchronization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-2 years in merchandising, production, or a related field, preferably with Shopify experience.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Shopify and related inventory management applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with cost tracking, sample management, and label approval

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Google Drive for file management and collaboration
  • Proficient in Shopify and related aspects of the back-end
  • Experience with inventory management and integration of sales apps into Shopify (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $25.00 - $32.50 per hour


Expected hours: 40 per week
