JOB TITLE: Mental Health Worker / Residential Aide

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Exempt Full-Time and Per Diem

DEPARTMENT: Catholic Social Services, Women of Hope - Vine

Housing & Homeless Services Division

REPORTS TO: Social Work Supervisor

DIRECT REPORTS: NONE

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides Safe Environment for residents while attending to personal care needs of the women.

Make sure residents are always accounted for and the building is secure. Attends to the cleaning and personal care needs of the residents. Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their needs are addressed in accordance with professional standards of Catholic Social Services.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

communicates regularly between shifts, receiving report from the shift before and giving the report to the shift coming in; reads follow up book

completes evening shift notes, logs on each resident, smokers' alert sheet and writes entries in the follow up book as needed

prepares, serves and cleans up from the supper meal; snack time

assists the women with the daily laundry schedule

assists in the distribution of medications when approved by the Case manager Supervisor

performs personal care needs for the women

coordinates evening volunteers

makes hourly rounds

coordinates evening activities

executes fire drills when scheduled

answers phone and door

handles emergencies

attends staff meetings and makes use of in-service opportunities, particularly those needed to comply with PCH licensing

Assists in any assignment deemed necessary by the supervisor or by the Program Director


REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


high school graduate/GED

holds or is willing to obtain a current Safe Food Handling Certificate

holds or is willing to obtain a current certification in CPR and First Aid

has desire, interest and ability to work well with others including residents with severe

And persistent mental illness who have been homeless

Flexible, hospitable

has completed the Direct Care Staff Person Training Course/Test online and has submitted the certificate; has or will complete the state's med administration training and WOH training in order to be qualified to distribute medications.
