Position Summary :
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Mental Health Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the intake process for new patients seeking mental health services. This includes gathering essential information, conducting initial assessments, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth transitions into treatment. The Intake Coordinator will work closely with clinical staff to ensure that patients' needs are met in a timely, efficient, and supportive manner. Key Responsibilities:
• Initial Patient Contact : Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking mental health services, answering inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
• Documentation & Data Entry : Accurately input patient data into electronic health records (EHR) or other systems, ensuring all required documentation is completed and compliant with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Appointment Scheduling : Schedule initial and follow-up appointments, coordinating with clinical staff to ensure timely access to services.
• Communication : Act as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, ensuring clear communication about appointment details, treatment plans, and necessary documentation.
• Confidentiality and Compliance : Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, while handling patient information.
• Administrative Support : Provide administrative support to the clinical team as needed, including preparing paperwork, maintaining patient files, and assisting with case management.
• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical reception
• Skills :
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and mental health service documentation is a plus. Personal Attributes:
