Position Information The Men's Basketball Head Coach will be a positive, energetic leader with the ability to teach, motivate, and recruit student-athletes. The Head Coach is primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of a NCAA Division I Men's Basketball program including, but not limited to, managing day-to-day operations, recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, fostering and supporting student-athlete welfare, practice and game day preparation and coaching, scheduling, budget management, hiring and supervising assistant coaches, fundraising and public relations, and adherence to the NCAA, Big West, and University rules.

The full salary range for the Men's Basketball Head Coach is $156,700 - $316,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Education

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program. (Required)
Certification Requirements
  • Must maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification. (Required)
  • Must maintain NCAA certified recruiter status. (Required)

Experience Requirements
  • 8 - 13 years of related experience. (Required)

Minimum Requirements Recognized expertise in team sport and coaching principles for student athletes. Supervisory and leadership skills to mentor and develop assistant coaches and/or program instruction staff. Highly advanced and effective interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants, staff and parents of student athletes. Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver and be highly effective communicating verbally, in writing and for live media presentations. Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
