Then you may be a perfect match for our Membership Manager position.
The Membership Manager reports to the Sales Manager in the Marketing and Sales Department. This position is regular, full time, and does require some weekends and holidays. The annualized salary range is $48k-$52k, DOE. Primary Role:
Develop and execute strategies and programs to generate membership revenue.
Responsibilities Acquire and retain Museum Members
- Develop an annual membership plan, including acquisition and retention strategies, membership marketing, and program changes/updates.
- Build and manage the customer journeys for member retention, single ticket buyer conversion, and member acquisition
- Plan and manage print and digital direct marketing campaigns to drive membership revenue
- Meet annual membership goals.
- Develop programs, services, and benefits for members to encourage acquisition, renewal, and upgrades.
- Implement member acquisition and renewal strategies, including but not limited to: on-site and online solicitation, targeted solicitations, membership drives, incentives, and coordinate with marketing on ad campaigns.
- Work with Front of House team and reservations to ensure consistent messaging and sales protocol; keep all departments up to date on membership promotions and events.
- Develop and maintain sales dashboards. Conduct data entry as needed for membership sales and interactions, and analyze membership data and revenue to achieve full picture of member behavior and effectiveness of membership plan and marketing efforts
Collaborate with Marketing team
- Devise marketing strategies to drive awareness and sales of Museum membership with focus on targeting, segmentation and automation
- Work with the Marketing team to develop and timeline creative content for emails, brochures, and other communications.
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure that membership program information is accurately communicated through the museum website, publications, and signage.
Fulfillment
- Serve as primary membership services contact, working directly with members to answer inquiries and facilitate solutions, including answering emails, fielding calls, and following up on in-person inquiries at the front desk. Record interactions in the database.
- Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Ensure memberships are fulfilled and records remain up to date in the database system.
- Support Front of House team by selling and renewing memberships on Museum floor during high-volume days and as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate membership events throughout the year
Other duties
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Sales and Sales Manager to create annual membership budget. Manage the budget and track monthly budget expenditures.
- Identify members with potential to become monthly givers or major donors. Work with Department of Strategic Advancement and External Affairs to solicit and collect unique and engaging member stories and identify prospects to become member donors.
- Attend industry arts/cultural meetings when needed.
- Stay current with Altru database best practices.
- Support team and Museum initiatives and works Museum events as needed.
- Present a positive, energetic demeanor and represent the Museum brand and value statements, both externally and internally.

Requirements
- Past subscription or membership sales experience helpful but not necessary
- 3+ years of Customer facing sales experience
- Excellent phone etiquette/skills
- Accountability: Excellent time management skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, exceptional organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and strict attention to detail
- Initiative: Eager to create efficiencies to better programs and processes, willingness to seek support for proper completion of job tasks, ability to self-motivate
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and adept at relationship building, strong presentation skills

- Strong Technical Skills: Knowledge of Blackbaud Altru product, fundraising software or database software, proficient in Microsoft office suite, ability to learn new software, experience with gift entry procedures and database management experience preferred
